Editorial Process
plainzip is produced by a small editorial process that compiles public Census data, verifies it against the official source, and is accountable for how it is framed. This page names that team and links to the standards and corrections process behind every page.
According to the United States Census Bureau American Community Survey extract reviewed in August 2026 against our methodology, this directory covers 33,099 ZIP Code Tabulation Areas.

- PlainZIP
ZIP Code Data Editors
The PlainZIP compiles, verifies, and contextualizes ZIP code-level data from the U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey and ZIP Code Business Patterns. We pair raw federal data with plain-language explanation so the typical visitor, a homebuyer, renter, journalist, researcher, can read a ZIP code's demographics without prior census expertise. The team does not accept payment, sponsorship, or promoted placement from entities it covers.
