PlainZIP is run by Kiznis Studio. Reading the site means accepting these terms.

What PlainZIP is

PlainZIP places U.S. ZIP codes and states figures about them from public files: the Census Bureau, the Federal Housing Finance Agency, the Internal Revenue Service, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Postal Service's labeling list L005, GeoNames and simplemaps. Each published figure is shown as its publisher reports it, with the file and its date beside it, so you can check it at the source; figures PlainZIP derives from them (ranks, shares, densities, incomes in 2024 dollars, changes between surveys) say how they are computed. ZIP Code™ and ZIP+4® are trademarks of the United States Postal Service. PlainZIP is not the United States Postal Service and is not affiliated with it or with any agency whose data it shows. It does not assign ZIP codes, validate street addresses or rate places as good or bad to live in.

Not advice

The figures describe areas from surveys and records; they are not financial, real-estate, legal or relocation advice, and survey estimates carry margins of error. For an address's ZIP+4 or delivery questions, use the Postal Service's own tools.

Using the data

You may quote and reuse PlainZIP's figures and tables with a link to the page you took them from. The underlying federal data is in the public domain; the GeoNames and simplemaps data PlainZIP uses are licensed under CC BY 4.0 and their attribution travels with them. Polite automated access is allowed: keep to a modest request rate, identify your client, and do not get around any security measure.

Advertising

Pages carry advertising served by Google. Ads are marked as ads and never decide what a page says.

Liability

PlainZIP is provided as is. Kiznis Studio checks the data against its sources but cannot promise it is free of errors and, to the fullest extent the law allows, is not liable for decisions made on it. Nothing here limits rights your local law gives you.
