You can look up every ZIP code on PlainZIP without an account, a form or an email address. What the site learns about its readers comes only from the tools listed below. Kiznis Studio owns PlainZIP and is the controller of that data.

Consent where you are
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google's consent banner comes first. Google Analytics does not run until you allow measurement, and advertising cookies stay off until you allow advertising. A browser set to a European time zone that never receives the banner never loads Google Analytics.
In the United States, ads and measurement run, the opt-outs below apply, and a Global Privacy Control signal turns off advertising storage and personalised ads. Elsewhere, measurement starts after the page loads and ads run without advertising cookies. When advertising storage is off, Google's tags remove ad data and carry an ad click's identifier in the page's links instead of a cookie.
Your consent is the legal basis for advertising and analytics cookies; withdraw it in the banner's settings or by clearing this site's cookies. The Umami totals identify no one, and PlainZIP relies on its legitimate interest in knowing how many people read it. Cloudflare and Google may process data in the United States under their own transfer arrangements; Sentry keeps its data in the EU. The web server's access logs (address, page, time, browser) are kept for seven days for security.
Lookups stay private
A lookup you type is not sent to analytics with its words: the search page is recorded without them, and a site you reach from the results learns only that you came from plainzip.com. A ZIP code you look up is not stored against you.
Opting out in the United States
To choose ads, Google uses a cookie ID, your IP address and the approximate location it implies, and the pages you read here. Some state laws call passing that to advertisers selling or sharing personal information. Opt out with a Global Privacy Control signal, in Google's ad settings (adssettings.google.com) or at optout.aboutads.info, or by writing to hello@plainzip.com. Requests to know, correct or delete are answered within 45 days, through Google's own tools where Google holds the data.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and similar laws you can ask what is held about you, have it corrected or erased, object to its use and complain to your data protection authority; PlainZIP answers within one month. The only personal data in PlainZIP's own systems is an email you send (kept until the matter is closed) and the seven-day server logs. PlainZIP publishes figures about places, never about people, and it is not directed at children under 13.
